1. Size
Provide all artwork sized to the required print size, refer to our size information chart (custom sizes are available within our A sizes, provide size information in mm). If you are working in Photoshop check the resolution is set to 300dpi when setting up your document.

2. Bleed
If your artwork contains edge to edge objects such as colour backgrounds or images, these areas have to run over the document edge. This overlapping outside area is called bleed, this area is needed when the sheet is trimmed to the final size after printing & is vital when finishing prints accurately. Set up your documents including a 3mm bleed area on all edges, extend the objects into the area before exporting to PDF.

3. Margins
Use margins within your document to create a safe area at least 5 – 10mm away from the edges.
Ensure all content is kept within the document margins.

Export your folded artwork in printers spreads, eg. for A6 folded provide artwork as A5 printer spread, A5 as A4.

Booklets are printed in multiples of 4 pages, eg. 4, 8, 12 (total page count must be evenly divisible by 4). Export your booklet artwork in single pages for us to impose or in printers spreads.

  • Arrange your single pages in the order that they wish to be read eg. P1 (Front cover), P2 (Inside front cover), P3, P4, P5, P6, P7 (Inside back cover, P8 (Back cover). Provide as a multipage PDF or separate clearly labeled files.
  • For unfinished signature booklet printing, provide separate multipage PDF files for each signature section.
    eg. Section 1 – P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8.  Section 2 – P9, P10, P11, P12, P13, P14, P15, P16 etc. Export each section as single pages or printers spreads.
